Kaye Hodges

Kaye's career as a professional artist started in 1976 on a Foundation Course at Croydon College of Art and continued with the Graphic Design course at Gwent College, South Wales where she attained her degree specializing in Illustration. In 1981 a final year piece was selected for publication in the prestigious Association of Illustrators Annual from which she came to the notice of leading London illustrators agency Artist Partners Ltd. The agency has promoted Kaye's illustration work ever since.

Kaye's illustration work is commissioned by Advertising Agencies and Product Packaging Design companies but the majority is from Magazine and Book Publishers. She has created book cover illustrations for authors such as - Catherine Cookson, Josephine Cox, Maeve Binchy, Barbara Cartland and children's authors - Jean Ure, Judy Bloom, Anne Fine, Monica Dickens and for many Enid Blyton titles. Illustrations have also appeared in many publications by Reader's Digest and Dorling Kindersley.

In parallel with work for the Publishing Houses, Kaye has also been commissioned privately for portraits and drawings in paint, ink and pencil and has been exhibited in the BP Portrait Award competition at the National Portrait Gallery on several occasions and in the final exhibition of the 'Not The Turner Prize' competition run by the Daily Mail.

Inspired by the giant projected scenic illustrations undertaken for a charity musical production of Peter Pan at the Festival Hall in 2003, commissioned by global Design and Communication company Imagination Ltd, Kaye founded Arcadia Murals. This has taken her photo-realistic style of work, quite literally, up into a different scale. Arcadia murals have been commissioned by many people for their private homes and examples can also be seen in schools, hospitals, restaurants and golf club-houses.

Kaye also occasionally finds time to exhibit some work at local events near home in Goudhurst, Kent.
